If you've read some of these entries, you'll realize where I stand on the Israel/Palestine crisis. It may seem like I harp on the issue, but the fact of the matter is that nearly every day Israel does something so obscene that I have to rant about it. Today, in Haaretz:
IDF seriously wounds 12-year-old girl
Meanwhile, a 12-year-old girl from the Khan Yunis refugee camp was seriously wounded inside her school classroom when IDF fire from nearby Neve Dekalim in Gush Katif aimed at what the army said was a Palestinian mortar squad.
This, unfortunately, is not all the surprising. (Oh yeah, and don't believe anything the Israeli Army says. They're like the US Army, but worse, so that should be an indication of their accountability.) But it comes during a more than two week slaughter in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli Army. More people have been killed in this operation than those massacred in Jenin in the spring of 2002, when the world actually said something. Today, the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians has become so commonplace that is doesn't even "merit" headlines or token gestures from useless governments.
That makes me really angry, so I'm gonna say something about it. Earlier I posted some info about at 13-year-old Palestinian girl killed last week in Rafah.
Thirteen-year-old Iman al-Hams was first gunned down by soldiers posted in a nearby observation tower in the southern Gaza Strip last week as they suspected she was carrying explosives in her satchel.
Her body was riddled with 20 bullets, including five in the head, Dr Ali Musa from Rafah hospital told AFP on October 5.
"Our officer approached her and shot two bullets in her head. He also set his weapon on automatic mode and emptied out the magazine on the lifeless body," the soldier told military radio.
Apparently there's at least one soldier with a conscience in the IDF. But not enough conscience to refuse.
This of course adds on the 642 Palestinian kids killed in the past four years.
If what I write makes you angry, good...it should. Ask me how to get involved. If what I write makes you angry at me, then you're an idiot, or a Zionist, or most likely, both.

ah...what do you mean by "They're like the US Army, but worse"?
