Palestinians Try to Help Kidnapped Human Rights Workers
On Saturday, four members of the Christian Peacemaker Teams were kidnapped in Iraq. Three of the four volunteers have spent time with the CPT in Hebron, in the West Bank, which is the scene of some of the most extreme brutality of the occupation and its accompanying settler violence.
As a result, along with Iraqi clerics urging their release, the "National and Islamic forces" in Hebron held a press conference and released a joint statement calling for the release of the CPTers.
We appeal to our brothers in the resistance and all those with alert consciences in Iraq, with whom we consider ourselves to be in the same trench confronting American aggression and occupation, to instantly and quickly release the four kidnapped persons (two Canadians, one Briton and one American) from CPT, in appreciation for their role in standing beside and supporting our Palestinian people and all the Arab and Islamic peoples.
Hopefully it helps.
UPDATE: Add your name to the petition calling for their freedom. It has been signed by such notables as Chomsky, Roy, Klein, Nader, Ali, Khalidi, and more.

Thanks for spreading the word Scott. This is a relatively new development, esp. these true dedicated Peacemakers getting support by so many people with different ideologies and agendas.
We must all make the distinction between valid armed guerrilla activities in repressed situations and rabid unethical terrorism.
Keep up the good work!

Since when does beheading anyone anywhere on the planet constitute 'valid armed guerrilla activities'? Maybe you would actually join the rest of humanity in labeling this terrorism. You're just talking about the 'valid' placing of roadside bombs and suicide attacks on Iraqi police stations. The National and Islamic Forces facilitate attacks in Israel and are a terrorist organization themselves. This is no more than an attempt to put a good face on their organization. Maybe you should do some more research before you throw your support behind so called 'peacemakers'.

Anonymous, maybe you should read the materials referenced in a post before cowardly posting incorrect information.
The National and Islamic Forces is not an organization, so you clearly don't know what you're talking about.
And Peter clearly differentiated between "valid" and "unethical" acts. Sorry he didn't put together a checklist to for your anonymous self to peruse.
