In the Italian city of Trent, anarchists seized control of the Olympic flame as it was being carried through the city by runner Eleanora Berlanda. Four of the eight activists were arrested.
They were protesting the sponsorship of the Olympics by Coca-Cola and against a planned high velocity rail project. According to the Independent, there have been at least 33 actions against the flame since it left Rome on December 8.
Olympic organizers are now routing the flame through only cities that are friendly, skipping towns like Brussoleno, whose Mayor has banned Coca-Cola ads.
The Italians continue to impress. More photos at La Repubblica.
